Cookie & Privacy Policy
COOKIE POLICY
This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymized tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. I suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.
PRIVACY POLICY
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”), I, AD Starrling, am the “data controller”. If you have any questions about this policy or about how I use your Personal Data, please contact me by email at ads@www.adstarrling.com
Mailing List
I only ever collect first name and email address and typically send out 12-18 newsletters a year, where I tell you about new books, sales, giveaways, and give you advance previews of book covers and content from upcoming releases. The information you provide when you join my mailing list will never be sold. It will also not be shared with anyone, except as permitted by applicable law or as set out below:
I may share your data with third parties who provide services or functions on my behalf and who require the information to provide those specific services to me. These third parties may include social media advertising platforms such as Facebook and Google Adwords for the purpose of custom audience generation and the development of targeting criteria for other audiences.
Affiliate Links
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. When you click on buy links to Amazon (as well as iBooks, Nook, and Kobo) you may be clicking on an affiliate link. Those links use a tracking cookie that pays the author a few cents on any qualifying purchase. These are not permanent tracking cookies and usually expire within 24-48 hours.

If you’re logged onto Facebook when you visit certain pages on my site, a tracking pixel generated by Facebook may remember you as a visitor to ADStarrling.com and you may see ads for my books on Facebook from time to time. I do not personally track users after they visit my site or provide data to third party users. However, Google analytics and my website server may collect data about your visit, browser type, operating system, geographic location, referral source, pages visited, and other “analytics” data. I may review this data from time to time to understand how my website is used so that I can improve it for users.
